The Kings River starts high in the Boston Mountains near Boston Arkansas and flows 90 miles northward emptying into Table Rock Lake at the 86 hwy bridge at the Missouri and Arkansas border. Surrounded by mostly rural farmland and natural forests, the river is popular for paddling and fishing. The Kings was named after Henry King from Alabama who was part of a prospecting mission in the Boston Mountains in 1827. He died while on his mission and was buried along the banks of the river, giving it its name.  Tall bluffs line the river in the upper portions consisting of sandstone, shale and limestone. Large gravel bars line the middle and lower portions of the river, which makes for great camping spots for overnight trips. The water is known for its cool and clear color and great Smallmouth Bass fishing.

Reviews

"Monster Smallmouth!"

“If you find the right riffles and are patient enough you are bound to catch a nice Smallmouth Bass, but if you throw the right lure and have the perfect imitation you're bound to catch a monster Smallmouth!”

— J.L.

"Beautifully clear cool water."

“My wife and I went on a float with a group of friends, the Kings River had beautifully clear cool water. Passing along down the river we could see sunfish and bass swimming under our canoe. If you are looking for a tranquil and relaxing float, this is the river to float!”

— Casey

"Best kept secret for Smallmouth."

“The Kings is often overlooked because of its limited access points and abundant private property. This keeps it a best kept secret for Smallmouth Bass”

— J.Y.
