How to Make Hard Boiled Eggs

One of the most simpleist ways to extend the life of your eggs is to hard boil them, and the possibilities are endless for what you can use hard boiled eggs for: switch up your breakfast, on-the-go snack (yes, even on the canoe!), post workout protein, salad topping, deviled eggs, egg salad. painted or dyed Easter Eggs. I love eating hard boiled eggs for a morning snack in the office or after my lunchtime workout.

There’s more than one way to hard boil eggs, but the method I prefer allows for easy peeling afterwards (as well as controlled but varied softness of the egg yolk - but we’ll get to that on another post). Hard Boiled Eggs

Ingredients

- Eggs - 6

- Water - 3 C

Directions

  1. In a pot, bring 3 C water to boil on the stove

  2. Pull 6 eggs out and allow eggs to come to room temperature

  3. Once water is boiling, use tongs to carefully place each egg into boiling water - if eggs crack they will be okay; they’ll cook slightly different

  4. Boil eggs for 11 minutes

  5. Immediately remove eggs from boiling water and place into a bowl to allow eggs to cool - if you plan to eat the hard boiled eggs the same day, consider putting eggs into the refrigerator

  6. Enjoy!
